Our American teachers at ETHOS are ready to help you reach your goals in English. This team has been together helping learners like you for over a decade. When you come, we’ll identify your weak areas and give you targeted training to strengthen them. Daily feedback emails explain what you did in class today and what to focus on so you can perform even better tomorrow. (We don’t know of any other school that provides this level of daily feedback!)

We offer two classroom study options: 4 hours/day and 5 hours/day. Each hour focuses on a different subject with several American teachers. The 4-hour program includes American Pronunciation, Grammar, Conversation, and Reading. The 5-hour program includes those same 4 subjects plus Writing. Each class is 55 minutes with a 5-minute break between classes and a 1-hour lunch at noon.

Classes run on weekdays, Monday–Friday, starting at 9:00 AM. We do not hold classes on Philippine Regular Holidays (government-mandated closures). Those dates are skipped in the school calendar, and there are no make-up classes because no lessons are missed. (See the 2026 ETHOS holiday list HERE.)

If your priority is conversation fluency, choose the 4-hour option. If you need stronger English for career, travel, work, or study abroad, the 5-hour option is recommended.

GROUP Class or MAN-TO-MAN?

For best results and value, we generally recommend GROUP classes over MAN-TO-MAN. Students in GROUP classes often progress faster because peers reduce anxiety and create more practice opportunities. You’ll also benefit from the teacher’s explanations to classmates and from classmates’ questions. Many students study together after class and help each other with assignments. GROUP classes are capped at six (6) students per American teacher.

We do offer MAN-TO-MAN classes (one-to-one with an American teacher). Tuition for MAN-TO-MAN is twice the cost of GROUP, and availability is limited. If you’re interested, mention it when you contact us and we’ll review options.

FREE Tutoring for Group Class Students

If you choose GROUP classes, you can book FREE daily after-school MAN-TO-MAN tutoring with an American teacher. In these 15-minute sessions, get help with anything you want. Teachers are available after class on every school day.

Who Can Study at ETHOS?

We accept individuals aged 15+. Younger students may enroll if they study with a parent or a sibling aged 15 or older.

If you’re a foreigner, you’ll have immigration requirements and fees. Please see the About Immigration page in the menu for details.

How Much Will It Cost?

We offer special rates for families who study together. See Family English for details.

Your cost depends on whether you need housing. ETHOS offers two housing options: Home Stay and Dormitory. You may also arrange your own housing. Please see the Housing page for details.

So... What About MEALS?

We have a meal program available for our students. Charges for the meal plans are not included in our study package quotation. The meal program is an add-on that students will choose once they arrive at ETHOS. Here are the options and the costs per week for each one:

One meal per day costs 1,500.00 Pesos per week. (This includes 5 meals)
Two meals per day costs 3,000.00 Pesos per week. (This includes 10 meals)
Three meals per day costs 4,500.00 Pesos per week. (This includes 15 meals)

We will cook food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Breakfast is available between 8:00 and 8:30 AM.
Lunch will be served at NOON.
Dinner will be served between 5:30 and 6:00 PM.

Arrangements will be done on a week-by-week basis while students are with us. They will pay for their desired meal plan on Friday for their meals during the following week. Our different meal plan options are only available on weekdays (Monday through Friday). Meals on weekends and school holidays during the week are NOT included. Very Important: There will be no refund for missed meals.

There are also a number of restaurants located within walking distance of the school. There is both a McDonald's and a Jolibee just one block from the school. There are also several local native Filipino restaurants near the school where students often eat their meals. Also, we are just 5 minutes away from the SM SEASIDE shopping mall, which has many different restaurants. (We keep a current list of restaurants and locations at school.)

In addition, we have a number of food delivery services (GRAB and Food Panda) available in the city, which can deliver food from almost any restaurant in the city! So, food will not be a problem.
