People all over the world are waking up to the reality that learning English can be a chance at a brighter future. Many English schools in the Philippines offer special training programs for these tests. They take students through one of the many test preparation guidebooks one can buy off the shelf in most bookstores. They study about the test and give students endless practice questions. This gives the appearance of progress, but studying about the test will not guarantee that you will pass! ... Additionally, if you only study about the test, pass it, but your actual English level is not up to the level of your test score, what will happen when you arrive in the country and cannot speak English at that level? What Can ETHOS Do To Help Me?

The best way to secure your future is to enroll in a program that concentrates upon helping you improve your English skills AND also helps you understand and prepare for the test you need to take. In the Philippines you have a choice for the training. You can go to one of the Filipino English schools, or one that has native speakers.

We research the most up-to-date information available about each test and work those details into our training. ... After completing an initial assessment, upon arrival, we will begin training. We will track your progress in all areas, providing a daily feedback email to you for each class. Each student receives printed copies of all our training material. Aside from in-class instruction, from an American teacher, we give our students daily in-class and homework assignments. The Training Program:

Our training is a 5-hour-per-day study program we have developed over time. It includes daily classes on American Pronunciation, Conversation, Grammar, Reading, and a class on Speaking and Writing. We only offer the GROUP CLASS study option. The class day begins at 9:00 AM and each class is 55 minutes with a 5-miinute break between classes. There will also be one hour given for lunch each day at noon (from 12:00 to 1:00 PM). Classes are conducted on Monday through Friday and we do not have classes on Philippine regular holidays. What About Housing?

We can provide housing for you, or we can help you find outside housing. We recommend that you stay in ETHOS housing. You will be very close to the school and it will be much cheaper. However, we allow students to stay wherever they want in the city. Just remember that the farther away from ETHOS you stay, the more difficult it will be to travel to school and arrive on time for the 9:00 AM start of class each day. ... We cannot delay the start of class, or extend the class time, because the teachers in this program are also teaching in our other programs. All of our programs are designed around the 55-minutes time blocks. So, if you stay outside, it will be your responsibility to leave your housing early enough to arrive at ETHOS on time. Read more

How Much Will It Cost?

The cost of training will depend upon how long you will be in our program and your choice for housing.

A Final Consideration...

Preparing for your test is preparing for your FUTURE! Why enroll in a training program with Filipino teachers, who may be very nice people, but who may not have an English level high enough to pass the test you will take? Would it not make more sense to have trainers who are American native-speakers? We are not the cheapest program, but with your future at stake, do you really want to take the risk of lower quality training just to save money?
